About the Journal

The Mediterranean Journal of Experimental Medicine (MJEM) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research in the fields of basic medical sciences and human genetics. The journal provides a platform for experimental and translational studies that advance our understanding of human biology and disease mechanisms, with a particular emphasis on genetic and molecular approaches.

MJEM welcomes a broad spectrum of contributions, including original research articles, reviews, short communications, methodological reports, and editorials. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Human genetics, genomics, and epigenetics

  • Molecular and cellular biology relevant to human disease

  • Mechanistic insights into immunity, infection, cancer, and metabolism

  • Functional and structural studies of disease pathways

  • Novel experimental and computational methods with translational potential

The journal is committed to the highest standards of scientific integrity and ethical publishing, adhering to international guidelines such as those of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent experts in the field.

As an open-access publication, MJEM ensures that all accepted articles are freely available online, fostering broad dissemination of knowledge and promoting collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and the wider scientific community.
