Author Guidelines

The Journal of Experimental Medicine and Therapeutics (JEMT) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal publishing original research across medicine, nursing, and nutrition & dietetics. The editorial and publication processes of JEMT are shaped in accordance with the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and the Council of Science Editors (CSE).

Language

JEMT publishes manuscripts exclusively in English. All submissions must include a title, abstract, and keywords in English. A Turkish translation of the title, abstract, and keywords is additionally required for indexing purposes. Authors who are unable to provide Turkish translations may contact the editorial office at jemt.editorial@nordestraacademicpress.com for assistance.

Originality and Prior Publication

Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under concurrent consideration elsewhere. Authors must disclose any prior submission to another journal. Manuscripts presented at scientific meetings may be submitted provided that the name, date, and location of the meeting are stated. Submission of previous reviewer reports is encouraged and may expedite the evaluation process.

Authorship

All listed authors must meet ICMJE criteria for authorship. An authorship contribution form must be completed by the corresponding author and submitted during the submission process. The ORCID iD of the corresponding author must be provided at submission (registration available at https://orcid.org).

Ethical Compliance

Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the relevant reporting guidelines:

  • Human research: Declaration of Helsinki (revised 2013)
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses: PRISMA guidelines
  • Case reports: CARE guidelines
  • Clinical trials: CONSORT (trial registration number required)
  • Animal studies: ARRIVE guidelines
  • Diagnostic accuracy: STARD guidelines

Ethics committee approval number and the name of the approving committee must be stated in the Methods section. Informed consent must be documented where applicable.

Plagiarism

Manuscripts must be submitted with an iThenticate or equivalent similarity report. Submissions with a similarity rate exceeding 20% will not be accepted.

Conflict of Interest and Funding

All sources of funding and any potential conflicts of interest must be declared. Authors should complete and submit the ICMJE Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form.

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word and organized as follows: Title Page (separate file) → Abstract → Keywords → Introduction → Methods → Results → Discussion → Conclusion → Acknowledgments → Conflict of Interest Statement → Funding Statement → References → Tables → Figures.

Abstract and Keywords

Structured abstracts must follow the headings: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion. Keywords must consist of 3–6 MeSH terms listed below the abstract.

Statistics

The statistical software used must be named. Continuous variables should be expressed as Mean ± SD for parametric tests, or Median with range/IQR for nonparametric tests. Relative risk, odds ratio, and hazard ratio values must be accompanied by confidence intervals and p values.

Tables and Figures

Tables must be prepared using the Insert Table function in Microsoft Word and placed after the references. Figures must be submitted in JPEG or TIFF format at minimum 300 DPI. All tables and figures must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and cited in the text. Three-dimensional graphs and gray-scale figures should be avoided.

Reference Style

JEMT follows the AMA (American Medical Association) citation style. References must be numbered consecutively in the order they first appear in the text and indicated with superscript numerals. List all authors if six or fewer; if more than six, list the first three followed by "et al."

Submission Preparation Checklist

  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under concurrent review at another journal.
  • The manuscript is prepared in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
  • The title page is prepared as a separate file and does not appear in the main manuscript.
  • The main manuscript file contains no author-identifying information.
  • A Turkish translation of the title, abstract, and keywords is included (or a request for editorial assistance has been submitted).
  • The abstract conforms to the required structure and word limit for the manuscript type.
  • Keywords (3–6 terms) are drawn from MeSH terminology.
  • References are formatted in AMA style and numbered consecutively.
  • All tables and figures are numbered, titled, and cited in the text.
  • Figures are submitted in JPEG or TIFF format at minimum 300 DPI.
  • Ethics committee approval number is stated in the Methods section (if applicable).
  • Informed consent is documented (if applicable).
  • Clinical trial registration number is provided (if applicable).
  • An iThenticate or equivalent similarity report is attached.
  • The authorship contribution form is completed and signed.
  • The ICMJE Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form is completed.
  • The ORCID iD of the corresponding author is available.
